Description | General Chemical Hygiene & Safety Training: This training is designed to ensure laboratory personnel understand their responsibilities to conduct safe work practices in compliance with OSHA’s Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories Standard 29 CFR 1910.1450*. Participants are trained on general laboratory safety rules and regulations, proper handling of chemicals and chemical waste, how to maintain health and safety in the workplace, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements pertaining to chemical hygiene and safety, and the requirements of a Chemical Hygiene Plan. *Excludes provisions of Appendices A and B to 29 CFR 1910.1450, and the Hazard Communication Standard 29 CFR 1910.1200. Site-Specific Chemical Hygiene & Safety Training is also available: This training incorporates customized curricula designed to ensure laboratory personnel understand their responsibilities to conduct safe work practices in compliance with your site-specific Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP), laboratory-specific SOPs, and OSHA’s Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories Standard 29 CFR 1910.1450*. Participants are trained on general laboratory safety rules and regulations, proper handling of chemicals and chemical waste, how to maintain health and safety in the workplace, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements pertaining to chemical hygiene and safety; and the requirements of your company’s Chemical Hygiene Plan and laboratory-specific SOPs. This training can be tailored to your company’s specific needs and conducted on-site or at the Biotility Education Center. Training time varies from five to six hours, depending upon the level of detail and hands-on activities requested. *Training on provisions of Appendices A and B to 29 CFR 1910.1450, and the Hazard Communication Standard 29 CFR 1910.1200 are included upon request only. |
