This course will assist in developing a transportation asset management (TAM) program. Students will be provided tools to identify infrastructure assets such as pavement, sidewalk, signs, drainage structures, guardrails, etc. and classify preservation goals. Tools aide TAM teams to identify stakeholder priorities, seek tangible and funding resources, asset data collection, aggregation, and plan development.
Students attending the TAM training sessions will learn valuable processes to optimize existing assets. The course will provide details on industry practices in transportation asset management, processes to ensure quality assurance and quality control through asset design, development, inspection, maintenance, and replacement. Students will be provided with resources to develop goals, policies, asset inventory and assign appropriate values based on condition and function. Student will learn to budget for preservation of existing assets.
