Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic

The Florida Transportation Technology Transfer (T2) Center is an approved provider for the Florida Department of Transportation Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic Course.

Target Audience

All personnel who work in the traffic control zone and whose responsibilities include having direct control of: placing traffic control devices, placing flaggers, training flaggers and drafting or generating work zone controls plans.


This 16-hour course provides FDOT/MOT qualification.  Requalification is required every four years.
The course covers information from the MUTCD Part 6 and the Florida Design Standards, Index 600 Series.

Please bring an official photo ID to be allowed to take the exam. A DL and email address is required to take the test.

Certificates and Wallet Cards

Certificates and Wallet Cards are valid for four (4) years from the ending date of the class session.  No certificates or wallet cards will be available at the class session. A certificate and wallet card will be sent to the participants who have paid their course fee and have successfully passed the exam.  Any participant who does not achieve a passing score of 70% or higher will receive a letter indicating such.  We ask you to allow up to two (2) weeks for your results to arrive at the email address you provided at the time of registration.
