COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course will cover advanced backflow prevention assembly testing procedures.
These will include:
Prerequisite
Student must be a current certified backflow tester holding one of these three certificates: ABPA, FCCC & HR @ USC, or UF/TREEO.
Special Note
If you take the Advanced Backflow Assembly Tester course during the same year you are due for re-certification, this qualifies as taking the re-certification exam for only $100, which is a $100 savings if you had planned to take the review option.

Testers will practice testing the RP, DCVA, and PVB using UF/TREEO or USC test procedures.

Demonstrate NEWWA test procedures for RP, DCVA, and PVB

Testers to experience NEWWA test procedures
-Encourage all testers to use the Barton 246 and 247 gauges.

Demonstrate Sight Tube test procedures

Demonstrate RP test procedures with backpressure present

Day Two

Assign projects – half of class will create RP test procedure using all three hose connected but not moved. (handout)
Other half of class will create RP test procedure utilizing only one hose. Use Mid-West 845-5 or 835 gauge with only the high pressure hose.
