Description | COURSE DESCRIPTION This three-day course will prepare the participant to successfully apply for and take the Florida Level 1 water distribution operators’ exam. Topics include managing the operational and maintenance needs of water storage and distribution facilities; distribution system water quality concerns and disinfection; water distribution system safety; interpreting and applying Federal, State and Local rules and regulations; planning and record keeping requirements; personnel and program management; community interaction and public relations. Students will complete pratice quizzes and tests during the course. Upon completion of the training, the student will receive a certification of course completion that can be used to apply for the Level 1 State examination.
At the conclusion of the course, the participant will be able to:
Along with a printed handout, all students will receive a copy of the American Water Works Association’s Water Distribution Operator Training Handbook, Fourth Edition. INSTRUCTOR'S BIOGRAPHY Glynn Stoffel, CET Mr. Stoffel is a certified environmental trainer and consultant with extensive experience in maintaining and managing underground utility systems. As a training consultant, he has delivered thousands of hours of training throughout the country on the safe operation, maintenance and construction of water, sewer and storm drain systems. His consulting services include distribution and collection system O&M program development and CMOM program management. In addition to his work with the TREEO center, he conducts training for the Maryland Center for Environmental Training at the College of Southern Maryland and the Technology Transfer (T2) Center at the University of Maryland. He has an AA in Civil Engineering Technology and a BS in Business Administration (Management) from the University of Baltimore. The Board of Certified Safety Professionals recognizes him as a Certified Environmental Safety and Health Trainer (CET).
