Description | THIS COURSE IS NOT ACTIVE. Do you have the responsibility of verifying, performing, or scheduling annual flow meter calibrations? This class is geared towards operators and new instrument maintenance technicians. You will learn why flow meters are calibrated, how they are calibrated, and what needs to be verified during a calibration. Upon completion of this course, the individual will be able to identify proper procedures for flow meter calibrations and reporting that meets the requirements by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Water Management Districts. Practical application exercises will be used in conjunction with course material to teach students need based concepts of most meters. These concepts will assist in understanding calibration requirements, troubleshooting and verifications of flow meter recorded flow values. This course will benefit the Supervisor, Operators, and Maintenance personnel that are involved with flow meter reporting. This course can benefit your facility by confirming that all flow data reported is within guidelines and in turn can assist in budget savings. Objectives:
•Know history of flow measurements
•Know the types of calibrations
•How to perform draw downs
•Know Faradays Law
•Know basis for meter selection
•Know proper meter applications
What our students are saying about the class: I learned today various measurement methods and instrument mounting options. Practical application of session’s information. The 2ndday session was very interesting. I took the lessons from yesterday and saw the application in work. The instructors were very knowledgeable and were able to answer any questions presented to them. Great and practical material that needs to be taught to more people. Instructors: Troy Cassidy, Environmental Solutions Professional, LLC, has been in the environmental field for 27 years. He is certified through the National Rural Water Association in Utility Management . He holds various licenses; Wastewater Class A , Water Class B, Pre-Treatment Class C as well as a Collections Class C certification. Mr. Cassidy worked as Superintendent for the City Of Haines City Water and Wastewater facilities from 2002-2012. Troy also worked as wastewater Instructor for Hillsborough Community College Wastewater Certification Program from 2005- 2011. Currently he is with the City Of High Springs water and wastewater operations. Jeff Johnson, Jan and Jeff Services, Field Service Manager (formerly Field Service Manager for Florida Instrument and Calibrations). Jeff has over 30 years of experience, 23 in the United States Air Force where he was trained and certified in the calibration and repair of electrical, pressure, mechanical and temperature test equipment. He is trained and certified on all test equipment used for calibrations.
