Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course covers the role of spotters at landfills and waste processing facilities. Included is an overview of facility operations focusing on understanding permit conditions and site plans as they relate to the spotter's responsibilities. Managing prohibited waste, and health & safety are also covered.

Daily morning and afternoon breaks are scheduled. On your own for lunch.

Course is approved through June 2026


Course Objective

At the completion of the training, the student should be able to discuss permit conditions & site plans as they relate to spotter’s responsibilities; safety, fire control; first aid & emergencies at waste sites; managing the working space; incoming waste; prohibited waste & regulations; compliance and enforcement process and emphasizing inspection strategies.

Participants must be present for entire course to receive continuing education credit and a Certificate of Attendance. There is not an exam requirement associated with the course.
