Description

The City of West Palm Beach in conjunction with FlaWARN, UF/TREEO and Florida Rural Water Association will be conducting a utility mutual aid assistance workshop for Palm Beach County Utilities from 1 PM to 5 PM on July 15th at the Lake Pavillion in downtown West Palm Beach. Utilities in Palm Beach County are invited to send two representatives per utility.  
 

The plan is to cover the following topics timely topics since we are already into the hurricane season.  All Palm beach County utilities will benefit from this workshop which will be conducted at no cost to the attendees.  Free parking will also be provided  in one of the West Palm Beach parking garages.

The topics are:

Overview of FlaWARN including website, training tools and resources
Overview and demonstration of StormTracker tool
Communication networking focused on utility to utility radio communication systems
Multi agency coordination including utilities, EOC's and FlaWARN in compliance with NIMS
Activation of FlaWARN Mutual Aid Agreement
How FlaWARN can help facilitate mutual aid assistance for the following critical issues among others:
          Procedures for requesting mutual aid resources
       Maintaining chemical inventories and facilitating deliveries
          Strategies for requesting and deploying portable standby generators
       Logistics of fuel deliveries  
       Emergency interconnect agreements
