|Coordinator||Marta Keilhauer email: firstname.lastname@example.org phone: (352) 392-9570 or (352) 294-3878|
Description :This two day course updates students on guidelines for acceptable practices for testing and annual inspection of backflow prevention prevention assemblies used in cross connection control programs .Students review information in the classroom to prepare for the written exam. They also work with staff in the wet lab to refresh tester skills. Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers hold valid certification for two-years from the date of initial certification and/or recertification. We give a third year as a grace period. Once the three years have passed, you will need to take the Initial certification again.
Special Notice To Florida Licensed Drinking Water, Wastewater and Distribution System Operators: Operators requiring CEUs toward renewal of their licenses cannot take the same course in the renewal cycle 2015-17 that they took during the renewal cycle 2013-2015. Taking the same course in back-to-back renewal periods is prohibited by the FDEP Operator Certification Program. Operators will need to wait until the renewal period 2015-2017 if they want to take the same course again and receive CEU credits.
If your certification is from a center other than a UF TREEO-sponsored organization, you are required to email or fax current Backflow Tester certification from your current provider. If the certification is expired or has lapsed, you would need to take our Initial Backflow Tester Training & Certification. If you are still current, you would need to attend both days, and take our 80 questions written test and perform wetlab test for RP, DC,& PVB without instructions. Exam is closed book.
Recertification will be awarded after successful completion of a hands-on lab test (RP and DC) and a 50-question written exam. UF/TREEO testers may use written instructions during the hands-on portion of the exam with a 10-point penalty .
The exam will consist of a written portion (1-hour time limit) and a hands-on evaluation (1-hour time limit)
Daily breaks are provided.
You are on your own for lunch.
