COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed for personnel who have accrued significant work experience and knowledge in the solid waste industry. This course is approved as refresher training for spotters at Solid Waste Facilities. Day 1 Topics includes: Solid Waste Management Basics and Regulations, Environmental Concerns with Waste Handling Facilities.

Morning breaks are scheduled. On your own for lunch.

Course is approved through June 2026


Course Objective

At the completion of the training the student should be able to discuss the basics of solid waste operations, and environmental concerns with waste handling facilities.

Participants must be present for entire course to receive continuing education credit and a Certificate of Attendance. There is not an exam requirement associated with the course.

This course is mornings of Day 1 of the three-day course: Initial Training for Operators of Landfills and Waste Processing Facilities


WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Solid Waste:

  • Spotters who have successfully taken the initial training course and need contact hours to maintain an active status in Florida solid waste training database.
