Description

Supervisors encounter daily challenges to be a leader in safety and influence their team. 

This course will help you to understand the role and responsibilities of the supervisor in safety.  We will cover techniques to communicate expectations, accountability of employees, coach for improvement, and recognition.  

During a series of hands-on exercises, participants will be able to identify their own safety leadership styles and how those styles impact safety within the organization. Also, we will cover how to effectively conduct safety meetings, inspections, and trainings.  

 

At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to: 

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the supervisors under the Occupational Safety and Health act. 
  • Recognize the role of the supervisor in the identification and control of hazards. 
  • Discuss how to conduct safety inspections and safety meetings.  
  • Identify methods to effectively conduct safety training. 
  • Identify safety leadership styles and how those styles impact safety. 
  • Recognize elements for safety accountability – Introduction to Discipline and Recognition Programs.
