Description

Building on the module “Building an Effective Safety Program and Culture”, this course delves into two of the seven core elements of an effective Safety & Health Program; Management Leadership and Worker Participation.  In trying to move beyond programs that focus on compliance and into living programs that can truly elevate safety to a way of working, Supervisors are the middle ground.  How they present a program to management can determine how much leadership and support the program will get.  The presentation to line workers can move them to see the value individually and to change their behavior from compliance to involvement.  Time will be given to discuss existing hurdles and brainstorm ways to overcome them.   A review of current OSHA guidance on Health & Safety and Incentive programs will help the supervisor steer clear of quick-change programs that could take the long-term program off track.
